ESTABLISH THE RUNNING GAME

Florida State runs to run the football under offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, where they average 254.3 rushing yards per game. This is a full 180 where the team was last year.

The Seminoles have a talented group of backs such as Gavin Sawchuk and Ousmane Kromah. This duo should be able to move the chains offensively and keep Florida State ahead of schedule. This could also create easier rushing lanes for quarterback Tommy Castellanos coming off of injury (if he plays).

Castellanos has had to throw a ton over these four losses. There are even times when the game script for Florida State seems to get out of hand if the game goes sideways.

To eliminate that, the Seminoles need to be less predictable in play calling and be able to take the deep shots necessary to spread the defense out. It will start with something that Florida State love to do in running the football. Wake Forest is 49th in the FBS in run defense, so the Seminoles cannot be discouraged if it isn't working early in the contest.
