CONTINUE THE DRIVE ON THIRD DOWN
Florida State will be entering a hostile environment on Friday night in Scott Stadium. This isn't to say that the Seminoles are heading to Happy Valley, The Swamp, Death Valley, or anything like that, but these Virginia fans want to see an upset.
The Seminoles' offense needs to be consistent in the matchup, which includes converting third downs and continuing drives. This should eliminate the momentum that the crowd can create, and help Florida State focus in more.
Florida State has the second-best third-down offense in the country, which they have converted 66.7% of the time. Meanwhile, Virginia has the fourth-best third-down defensive rate, with only allowing teams to convert on only 20.8% of their opportunities.
Something has to give on both trends. The Seminoles' coaching staff will give quarterback Thomas Castellanos the green light to run the football at will, plus he will rely on 6'6" wide receiver Duce Robinson as a safety blanket.
