Parting Thoughts

Some fans thought it would be in the best interest for Wilson to return for the 2024 season, citing missing games in 2023 and not having the production most thought he’d have.

However, I never expected him to return. He won’t get any faster, and there’s uncertainty about who FSU will have at quarterback.

There’s the injuries aspect, and the types of injuries he’s had will not do him any favors to return to college. It always made the most sense to perform well at the NFL Combine, get drafted as high as possible, and get started on that rookie contract, with hopes of making it to a second NFL contract.

Johnny Wilson was the type of player you want on your team. Johnny Wilson was a hard worker, a guy who wasn’t afraid of the big moments, productive, and a team player. Wilson will be someone the coaching staff can point to regarding developing players from the portal.

He was a talented player nobody wanted, and he became a two-time All-ACC selection and eventual NFL Draft with this coaching staff. A top 100 selection means he should go no lower than the third round.

I’ll always be a Johnny Wilson fan. Good luck in the NFL, and represent Nole nation well!
