FSU football remained undefeated on the season as they defeated the Florida Gators by a score of 24-15.

While it was not ideal performance, it showcased the Seminoles’ ability to handle high levels of adversity where they do whatever it takes to secure the victory.

Thoughts

Florida State moved up to the No. 4 spot in the recent AP poll likely due to the Michigan Wolverines defeating the Ohio State Buckeyes by a score of 30-24 on Saturday afternoon.

During rivalry weekend, there were several teams in the top ten that struggled winning comfortably against their rivals such as Georgia (won 31-23 versus Georgia Tech), Michigan, Washington (won 24-21 versus Washington State), and Alabama (won 27-24 versus Auburn).

Head football coach Mike Norvell would be the first individual to tell his squad to control what they can control. The Seminoles need to continue worrying about what is in front of them with an ACC Championship matchup against Louisville instead of worry about where they are place in the rankings.

As individuals know, the College Football Playoff rankings are what should be prioritized when evaluating where Florida State will be playing in the playoff games (if they go undefeated and the committee decides to include the Seminoles).

This will be an interesting turn of events this weekend as the Seminoles play Louisville on Saturday night in the ACC Championship to keep their undefeated season alive.
