FSU football will be playing their arch-rival Florida Gators tonight at 7:00 PM EST on ESPN. Then the Seminoles have an ACC Championship Game matchup versus the No. 10 Louisville Cardinals.

If the Seminoles were able to defeat Florida tonight, fans thought that the Louisville game would potentially give Florida State a viable victory over a top ten opponent to add to their resume.

However, in the words of the great Lee Corso: “Not so fast, my friends!” Individuals say all the time how unpredictable rivalry games can be at times. The Louisville Cardinals found out the hard way as they took on the Kentucky Wildcats at home and ended up losing by a score of 38-31.

When former Florida State defensive back Jarvis Brownlee Jr. intercepted the pass by Kentucky quarterback Devin Leary with 4:48 left to go in the fourth quarter, it gave the Cardinals life in the contest.

Unfortunately, after Louisville tied the game at 31, the Kentucky Wildcats went down on a 4 play, 75-yard drive to take a 38-31 lead late in the fourth quarter.

This is a certainly disappointing outcome for the Florida State Seminoles, given that some of the college football analysts are suggesting that an undefeated Seminoles team could have a possibility of being left out due to redshirt senior quarterback Jordan Travis suffering a season-ending injury and a lack of strength of schedule.

Overall, head football coach Mike Norvell and company discuss the importance of controlling what they can control. It is an “All We Got, All We Need” mentality. The Seminoles cannot look to their matchup against Louisville, they need to focus on their matchup against Florida tonight.

There have been concerns by some of the fanbase, which center around the College Football Playoff committee dropped the Seminoles to the No. 5 spot. However, I still believe that if Florida State wins out then they are in.
