DE Jared Verse

The Florida Gators will be starting Max Brown at the quarterback position after Graham Mertz suffered an injury to his collarbone. The Florida State defensive unit has been had its fair share of facing backup quarterbacks this season.

However, the Seminoles now have their backs up against the wall as the Gators will do everything in their power to spoil their undefeated season. While Brown is a productive passer where he completed four of his five passes for 56 yards in their 33-31 loss last week versus Missouri, he also put his dual-threat ability on display where he rushed for 42 yards.

If defensive coordinator Adam Fuller want to find success against the Gators and make them one-dimensional, they have to apply pressure on Brown. Luckily, Florida State has one of the top defensive ends in the country with redshirt junior Jared Verse.

The former Albany transfer has dealt with numerous double teams, which has made it difficult for him to make his presence known. However, the talented defender has still been able to generate pressure this season with 29 total tackles and 4.5 sacks.

I expect Verse to generate his first sack since the Wake Forest contest back in late October.
