Mike Norvell

Why do I have confidence Tate Rodemaker can play well? That’s an easy answer, Mike Norvell. Norvell is one of the best coaches at gameplanning and putting his players in positions to succeed. I also like the matchup between Norvell and Florida’s defensive coordinator, Mr. Toolshed.

I expect Norvell to construct a game plan that will play to Rodemaker’s strengths, similar to how he did early in the career of Jordan Travis.

One major difference is FSU has much better talent at the skill positions, and though it’s not great, the offensive line is still better now than in 2020-21. Mike Norvell has prepared Tate Rodemaker for this moment.

They have a saying that confidence comes from the work they’ve put in. The work has been evident based on the improvement we’ve seen from players like Jordan Travis, Kalen DeLoach, DJ Lundy, Darius Washington, and others.

I expect Tate Rodemaker to exude the same because that’s what Mike Norvell demands.

Rodemaker has faced more talented defenses that blitzed a lot (Louisville 2022), and had to make throws under pressure on the road.

Louisville on the road at night on a Friday night isn’t the Swamp, but it’s not Snuggie Hill either. I think Tate Rodemaker will be ready.
