No. 5 FSU football will travel to Gainesville Saturday night to take on the rival Florida Gators in the Swamp. It’s two teams on the opposite side of the spectrum, but the game remains incredibly important to both programs.

FSU and Mike Norvell can continue to widen the gap over second-year head coach Billy Napier with a second straight win. However, two of the main characters in this story will not participate due to injuries sustained last week.

Enter backup FSU quarterback Tate Rodemaker. The redshirt junior will make his second career start and first since his freshman year in 2020. It’ll be a hostile environment against a team with their back against the wall looking to become bowl-eligible.

Despite the circumstances, FSU remains a -6.5 betting favorite on the road. Ironically, 67 percent of the bets are on the Florida Gators.

I wonder if some of that’s the perception that FSU will face a severe dropoff offensively with the loss of Jordan Travis.

Make no mistake, there will be some dropoff, but I believe Tate Rodemaker is in a position to suceed. Here are five reasons I expect him to play well against Florida.
