FSU football: 4-star CB Cai Bates receives crystal ball prediction to the Noles
FSU football has had a tremendous level of success on the recruiting trail as the Seminoles rank No. 3 in the 2024 247Sports’ Composite team rankings where they are behind only Georgia and Ohio State.
Florida State has been constructing quite the recruiting haul with headliners such as five-star cornerback Charles Lester III, five-star safety KJ Bolden, five-star defensive end Armondo Blount, four-star quarterback Luke Kromenhoek, four-star tight end Landen Thomas, among others.
Unfortunately, on Sunday afternoon, three-star safety CJ Heard Jr. from Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Georgia announced that he would be decommitting from the Seminoles.
At this current moment, spots are limited as the program already has 22 commitments in the fold.
First-year defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has done a phenomenal with stacking talent at his position group. Florida State has already been able to acquire pieces in the secondary such as five-star cornerback Charles Lester III, five-star safety KJ Bolden, four-star cornerback Ricky Knight III, and four-star cornerback Jamari Howard.
Fans should not be fooled by the amount of defensive backs that are in the recruiting class already. The Seminoles are still searching for more prospects to add to the fold.
One prospect that should be monitored is four-star cornerback Cai Bates from Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida. On Monday morning, the talented defensive back received a crystal ball prediction in favor of Florida State with a confidence level of 6 out of 10 from Noles247 Contributor Zach Blostein.
The Seminoles have been heavily in the recruitment for Bates as he decommitted from the LSU Tigers on November 13th. The Orlando (FL) native took an unofficial visit to Tallahassee when Florida State took on their arch-rival Miami Hurricanes in a packed-out Doak Campbell Stadium on November 11th.
While a decision date for Bates has not been announced, it certainly looks as though Florida State has the inside track on his recruitment.
