Florida State offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins has emphasized the importance of playing his rotation of eight offensive linemen with Robert Scott Sr. (when healthy), Casey Roddick, Maurice Smith, D’Mitri Emmanuel, Jeremiah Byers, Keiondre Jones, Darius Washington, and Bless Harris.

There are several talented underclassmen that can be future superstars in the room such as Julian Armella, Jaylen Early, Lucas Simmons, Qae’shon Sapp, Andre Otto, Daughtry Richardson, among others.

This contest should allow several of those players to get reps on the offensive line without having to hinder their development or eligibility. While the offensive line has not had as much success on the ground as it did last season, Atkins has done a tremendous job with not forcing younger offensive linemen to participate before they are ready.

One player that I am excited to see is offensive tackle Julian Armella. The former four-star prospect could be in the rotation at the tackle position with Bless Harris’ eligibility exceeding at the end of the season, especially with Robert Scott Sr. injury history this season.

This North Alabama game could give Armella the confidence he needs to push forward positively into next season.
