FSU football: 10 major takeaways from win over Miami
By Kelvin Hunt
Kalen DeLoach was ELITE
Kalen DeLoach led all players with 10 total tackles (five solo and five assists). He had two massive sacks, and one was critical because it forced Miami to settle for a 51-yard field goal that they missed.
That sack in particular, was reminiscent of his blitz for sack and forced fumble against Clemson earlier this year.
DeLoach shot through a gap untouched and dropped Miami QB Emory Williams for a 10-yard loss. His second sack came on a third and nine play in the second quarter as the Miami QB looked to escape pressure. He dropped Emory Williams for a five-yard loss to force a punt.
DeLoach and the FSU defense gave the FSU offense a chance to break the game open early in the second quarter.
However, the offense failed to capitalize on those opportunities and kept Miami in the game. DeLoach increased his team-leading tackle and sack totals with his performance.
