FSU Football: 3 unsung heroes in win over Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh Panthers was a very important game for FSU football. With a win over the Pittsburgh Panthers, the Seminoles were determined to clinch their spot in the ACC Championship for the first time since 2014.
However, they faced great adversity with their 2 starting wide receivers, Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson, ruled out with injury.
The Seminoles needed to rely on other players with so much on the line. After the offense struggled to score points in the first quarter, Jordan Travis and Trey Benson finally got things going.
Though this wasn’t one of Travis’ strongest games, he still managed to put up 22/36 attempts, 360 yards, and two touchdowns.
Trey Benson had a productive day with 12 carries, 97 yards, and a 55-yard touchdown run. Of course, the defense held down the fort as well. Jared Verse, Kalen DeLoach, Akeem Dent, and Braden Fiske dominated the backfield as usual.
While our usual playmakers like Jordan Travis, Trey Benson, Jared Verse, Kalen DeLoach, Akeem Dent, and Braden Fiske gave a strong performance, the three unsung heroes in this game stepped up big-time in the win over Pittsburgh.
