FSU football: Three committed prospects that staff could flip for FSU-UM weekend
Four-star CB Wardell Mack (Florida commit)
Class of 2024 four-star cornerback Wardell Mack from John Ehret High School in Marrero, Louisiana committed to the arch-rival Florida Gators back on August 14th. There were some individuals that felt as though the LSU Tigers would be more of a factor given that the talented defensive back is from the state of Louisiana.
However, head football coach Billy Napier and company were able to come in and secure his services. Unfortunately, Florida has struggled this season where they possess a 5-4 record with a recent loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Just like Jones, this allows the Seminoles’ coaching staff to reopen the door on Mack’s recruitment and flip his pledge from a rival. Florida State has four defensive backs committed to their recruiting class with five-star safety KJ Bolden, five-star cornerback Charles Lester III, four-star cornerback Ricky Knight III, and four-star safety CJ Heard.
First-year defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. is certainly open to the idea of acquire another defensive back or two in this recruiting class.
