  • Duke: No. 44 offense and No. 18 defense
  • Wake Forest: No. 88 offense and No. 48 defense
  • Pittsburgh: No. 108 offense and No. 33 defense

The average offense faced was No. 74 and the average defense faced was No. 44. Aside from Syracuse and half of the Duke game, FSU faced quarterbacks with very little experience. The defenses they faced were consistently better overall than in the first four games.
