Offensive Line

FSU coaches haven’t had the starting five they want healthy all season, and it has shown. The offensive line continues to struggle in short yardage situations.

The Panthers sacked Jordan Travis twice and had 11 tackles for a loss.

Pittsburgh is among the best defensive fronts at generating tackles for a loss, but FSU allowed way too much penetration, and aside from the touchdown run by Benson, the running game was nearly non-existent.

Some of that can be attributed to missing Coleman and Wilson in the blocking game on the edges, but FSU will have to find something in that offensive line room when they play against another top tier defense.

They are better at pass blocking then run blocking, so maybe we’ll see FSU spread it out more against better defensive fronts and get Jordan Travis more involved in the run game.

I don’t think Mike Norvell believed they needed him to run a ton against Pittsburgh, but I expect them to pull out all of the stops next week against Miami.
