Get Pressure on the Quarterback

The Florida State defensive line has been only able to generate 16 sacks through seven games this season. On top of that, superstar defensive end Jared Verse has only recorded 2.5 sacks thus far.

That isn’t to say that the Seminoles’ defense has not generated pressure. There are certainly instances where Verse, for example, is getting doubled and even triple teamed by opposing offensive linemen.

The contest against Wake Forest could be just what the doctor ordered for the Seminoles’ defensive line as the Demon Deacons are ranked No. 128 in the FBS in sacks allowed (4.43 sacks per game) and rank No. 130 in the FBS in tackles for loss allowed (8.71 tackles for loss per game).

Wake Forest has also hinted at the possibility of redshirt sophomore quarterback Mitch Griffis returning from injury in this game.

Defensive ends Jared Verse and Patrick Payton could have the opportunity to make a sizable difference in the outcome of the contest by making creating consistent pressure on the opposing offense.
