DE Jared Verse

I believe that it is finally time for elite pass rusher Jared Verse to finally break out and put his skills on display. The former Albany transfer decided to return to Tallahassee this past offseason after he likely did not get the NFL Draft grade that he was anticipating.

Opposing offenses obviously know about Verse’s ability to change the outcome of a football game if he is able to pressure the quarterback. While he has only recorded 2.5 sacks this season, Verse has still been able to able to generate enough quarterback hurries to make offenses scheme around him. The majority of the time, offensive linemen are double and, even sometimes, triple teaming him with tight ends/running backs.

Wake Forest’s offensive line has certainly allowed pressures all season where they have given up 4.43 sacks per game (128th in the FBS) and 8.71 tackles for loss per game (130th in the FBS). This could be just what the doctor ordered for Verse to have a big performance.
