FSU football received major news Sunday when 2025 five-star defensive lineman Armondo Blount announced he was flipping his commitment from the Miami Hurricanes to the Noles.

Oh, he’s also reclassifying to the 2024 recruiting class.

Blount ranks as the No. 6 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle and will receive an updated ranking for 2024.

However, FSU needed to address the defensive line position since it was one of the areas the coaching staff hadn’t fully fulfilled the need on.

They will likely take at least one more defensive lineman, but taking Blount from Miami is a major win for the program. FSU was in a good spot with him, and FSU linebacker’s coach, Randy Shannon, knows the family well.

His commitment to Miami in September seemed quick, but the coaching staff stayed the course and got him on campus for the Duke game and the big recruiting weekend with many big-time commitments on campus.

We’ve talked about FSU only having a few spots remaining in its 2024 recruiting class and how they were only going after top players. Let’s discuss how this commitment impacts FSU.
