FSU Run Game

Part of the FSU patience on offense will reside in the run game. Duke isn’t elite against the run, though they will likely try to take it away early. I’d like to see Jordan Travis incorporate his legs in the run game early.

Duke isn’t a deep team talent wise, and FSU establishing the run game early will open up the vertical shots downfield when they bring another guy in the box. It will also wear down their defense, and FSU can impose its will in the second half like they’ve done in other games. Duke hasn’t played an offense with a mobile quarterback like Jordan Travis.

I like the trio of Trey Benson, Rodney Hill, and Caziah Holmes in this game, with Lawrence Toafili doing damage in the passing game.

Duke swarms to the ball well, but trying to tackle three backs that run hard for four quarters isn’t something many teams want to do. The perimeter blocking by the huge FSU wide receivers and tight ends could be game-changers.
