DE Jared Verse

The former Albany transfer has not had the statistical season that he was hoping for, but he is still making an effort to have maximum impact on a football game. There are times where Jared Verse is consistently getting double and triple teamed by opposing offensive linemen. This is to be expected for a pass rusher that is anticipating on get selected within the first two rounds of the NFL Draft.

In regards to the Duke contest, the Blue Devils have discussed the possibility of playing quarterback Riley Leonard against Florida State. Leonard has been dealing with an ankle injury that he suffered against in their loss against Notre Dame. What makes the signal caller so special is his best ability to utilize his legs. However, if he is not a viable threat as a scrambler, the FSU’s defense could make Duke’s offense one-dimensional.

Verse could have a field day against the Blue Devils’ offensive line if Leonard is content with staying in the pocket.
