FSU football: 3 impact players during the Seminoles’ 41-3 victory over Syracuse
WR Keon Coleman
How could we discuss impact players in the Syracuse game and not mention ultra-talented pass catcher Keon Coleman? The former Michigan State transfer had nine receptions for 140 yards and one touchdown. He was consistently making the opposing defensive backs look silly on a consistent basis.
Coleman had an impressive 58-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter on a shifty double move that left him all alone behind the Syracuse defense. Then when you thought it could get better, he followed it up with a SportsCenter top 10 moment where he came down with a miraculous one-handed grab on the Seminoles’ opening offensive drive in the first quarter.
There were some frustrated fans through this season that stated that Coleman should not be the punt returner of this football team, mainly because he was the leading pass catcher and they didn’t want him to get hurt returning punts. However, the explosive playmaker proved that he had game-changing abilities as a punt returner where he finished with six punt returns for 107 yards, which included a long of 72 yards.
