FSU football: 2024 QB commit Luke Kromenhoek earns 5-star status
FSU football has done a fantastic job this season with acquiring victories over LSU and Clemson.
These results on the gridiron have certainly impacted the decision of some very highly-touted prospects. Head football coach Mike Norvell and company have positively changed the narrative in Tallahassee and made the Seminoles a destination spot.
Florida State is currently ranked No. 6 in the 2024 On3 Composite rankings with 21 prospects committed to the fold. For reference, the Seminoles’ 2023 recruiting class finished as the 20th best.
In terms of the 2024 recruiting class, FSU only had two prospects that were listed as five-star prospects, according to On3, in defensive backs KJ Bolden and Charles Lester III. However, on Thursday, On3 announced that quarterback commit Luke Kromenhoek from Benedictine Military School in Savannah, Georgia was not classified as a five-star prospect.
This should not have come as a surprise as the talented signal called performed exceptionally well at the Elite 11 events and has made a name for himself with his accurate arm and football IQ.
The coaching staff at Florida State did a phenomenal job evaluating Kromenhoek early in his recruiting process before he was even a starting quarterback on his high school team. Some teams would be scared away of taking a chance on a prospect at a premier position (if he would indeed flop).
The Seminoles were his first-ever offer when they extended the opportunity to him all the way back on June 18, 2021. The interest has been mutual between Kromenhoek and Florida State, where he ultimately ended up pledging to the program on March 26, 2022. The Savannah, Georgia native has already locked down his recruitment and has stated that he will be signing with the Seminoles and enrolling early.
Fans consistently wonder what will life be without quarterback Jordan Travis after the conclusion of this season. While it might be too early to predict, it is difficult not to envision a situation where Kromenhoek could be the building block of something special in Tallahassee.
