Explosive Plays In The Air

One of the trade-offs with having an aggressive defense? They get a lot of tackles for loss but also allow a ton of explosive plays, and FSU has one of the most explosive offenses nationally, averaging nearly seven yards per play.

Syracuse ranks No. 67 nationally, with 49 pass plays of 10+ yards allowed.

They’ve allowed 15 of 20+, and seven of 30+, and five of 40+ yards. Syracuse is fairly stout against the run. They’ve allowed 17 run plays over 10+ yards and three over 20+ yards. They rank No. 17 nationally in explosive run plays allowed.

I know FSU fans want to see the run game continue to shine, and Trey Benson had a big game against them last year.

However, FSU may have to take the air raid approach to build a lead before they start pounding away on the ground to put the Orange away.

This game could be the perfect time for someone like Destyn Hill to finally have a breakout game.
