Defensive end Jared Verse announced his return this offseason to the Florida State Seminoles for the 2023 season in hopes of elevating his NFL Draft stock. As it pertains to this season, the former Albany transfer has seen his fair share of double and triple teams thus far from opposing offensive linemen. However, he has battled through adversity and still made his presence felt.

On Saturday afternoon, the Virginia Tech Hokies were reminded of his wonderful skill set where he recorded three total tackles and two sacks. Coming into the matchup against the Hokies, Verse only had half a sack to his stat sheet. During the 2022 season, the talented pass rusher had nine sacks and was considered a top ten NFL draft pick by a variety of experts. However, Verse elected to come back to Tallahassee to make his impact felt on a team that is ready to make some noise in the college football landscape.
