FSU football: 3 major takeaways from Virginia Tech win

Complementary Football From Beginning
FSU football hadn’t started a game with the offense and defense playing in unison. It would either be the defense getting a stop to open the game, and the offense would waste their opportunity to capitalize or vice versa.
That wasn’t the case Saturday afternoon. The offense opened the game with a 15-play 75-yard touchdown drive. The defense got a three-and-out to force a punt, and the offense went 66 yards on seven plays to score another touchdown to go up 15-0(two-point conversion was good).
They got another three-and-out, and the offense scored another touchdown on seven play 45-yard drive to go up 22-0. The defense got its third consecutive three-and-out, but the offense failed to capitalize on its fourth possession.
However, that shows what this FSU team is capable of when they play complimentary football. We’ve seen them go on runs in every game. They had a 31-0 run against LSU and a 28-0 run against Boston College.
FSU was real close to blowing Virginia Tech out early in the second quarter but got saved by a referee flag for roughing the passer after intercepting the Virginia Tech quarterback. If that interception had stood and FSU scored? It’s 29-0, and Virginia Tech likely lays down.
