Florida State football players arrive for the first FSU spring football practice of the 2023 season on Monday, March 6, 2023.Winston Wright 1 Of 1 /

Winston Wright Jr.

Unfortunately, the former West Virginia transfer suffered an injury last offseason from a car accident in his hometown of Savannah, Georgia. The Seminoles were excited about the potential of Wright Jr. after he recorded 63 receptions for 688 yards and five touchdowns during the 2021 season for the Mountaineers. He also showcased his ability to be an effective weapon on special teams where he had 25 kickoff returns for 618 yards and one touchdown.

Wright Jr. has not been much of a factor this season where he has four receptions for 36 yards. However, the coaching staff has been trying to get him involved in the special teams game recently where he has three kickoff returns for 74 yards.

If Wright Jr. can get past the mental hurdle of the injury that he suffered, the veteran playmaker could be a viable weapon for the Seminoles’ final eight regular season games of the season.
