FSU football is ranked No. 5 yet again in the updated AP poll. The Seminoles were in the same spot in last week’s edition of the poll, which frustrated a variety of fans, given that they were coming off an overtime road victory over the Clemson Tigers (who FSU has not beaten since 2014).

The rest of the top 10 AP poll rankings are as followed:

1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Texas
4. Ohio State
5. Florida State
6. Penn State
7. Washington
8. Oregon
9. USC
10. Notre Dame

ANALYSIS

Personally, I do not mind the Seminoles are ranked No. 5 once again. If they take care of business, everything will work itself out. FSU has one of the best resumes in all of college football right now, which includes victories over LSU and Clemson.

Even though both teams have two losses, the Seminoles cannot be discredited for the wins at the time they played. Even if you want to include the less than ideal two-point victory over Boston College, the Seminoles still found a way to get the job in a conference road matchup.

With that said, Georgia is still at the No. 1 spot after escaping defeat against an unranked Auburn Tigers that were embarrassed by an inconsistent Texas A&M Aggies team by a score of 27-10.

I can see where FSU fans are expressing frustrations with the AP poll voters, given the Bulldogs have been very inconsistent this season. Much of the voters seem to be taking into effect that head football coach Kirby Smart and company have won two straight national championships.

Getting back to the topic of the Seminoles in the poll, FSU football will be fine. They cannot worry about the outside noise. The Seminoles will need to bring the “All We Got, All We Need” energy for the rest of the 2023 season as they continue to improve each and every day.
