FSU football is riding on a high note after a monumental road victory over the Clemson Tigers on Saturday afternoon by a score of 31-24 in overtime.

The Seminoles now have two notable wins over the likes of LSU and Clemson, which could potentially the best resume in all of college football thus far.

However, the recent AP poll released its rankings on Sunday afternoon, which had the Seminoles ranked No. 5. For reference, in the previous AP poll, FSU was listed as the fourth best team in the country.

ANALYSIS

Most individuals are probably scratching their heads about the ranking, considering that the Seminoles went into Death Valley and handled their business against a football team who has only lost twice at home in their last 42 games

While Florida State has not played their best football, they have showcased what it means to respond through adverse situations to get where they are today, with a 4-0 record.

Nonetheless, head football coach Mike Norvell has displayed a sense of confidence in his squad. He exemplifies that the team cannot worry about the “outside noise”. They have to control what they can control. It starts with going into the much-needed bye week where they can use it to get healthier, work on shortcomings on the offensive and defensive side of the ball, and focus on the second half of the season.

The Seminoles still have the likes of Duke as well as arch-rivals Miami and Florida on the docket, so they need to continue to remain focused and determined to reach their ultimate goal of being the best that they can be. They cannot be focused on what ranking that they were given on an AP poll.

If they handle business, the sky is the limit for the football team that is looking to prove the doubters wrong.
