Injury Updates

The injury update is the biggest question coming out of bye week for the Noles. Jordan Travis, Maurice Smith, Robert Scott, and Akeem Dent have all been battling injuries the past few weeks. All three offensive players dealing with injuries have impacted the offensive negatively.

The glaring issues on defensive have largely been due to the absence of Akeem Dent at safety. Hopefully, the bye week allowed younger players to get more valuable reps to help build some depth at the position.

I’m not looking to disrespect Virginia Tech as an opponent, and they defeated Pittsburgh for their first ACC win Saturday night. However, it’s a game where FSU will likely be double digit betting favorites, which means FSU could likely rest Smith, Scott, and Dent another week if they had to ensure they got as close as possible to 100 percent healthy.

Hopefully, FSU can build a lead quickly and allow Jordan Travis to rest in the second half next week. If all these players return against Virginia Tech, it might provide a glimpse of what FSU can do when they’re at 100 percent.
