FSU football: Breaking down Clemson weaknesses and tendencies
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football could overcome a major hurdle with a win over the Clemson Tigers on Saturday afternoon. I mentioned in my season predictions piece, Clemson was one of two teams on the schedule with the talent to cause the Noles problems.
LSU was the other team, and I predicted FSU to defeat both teams. FSU already took care of business against LSU, and the attention focuses on Clemson now.
Clemson lost against Duke in their season opener, which took some of the luster away from this game. In hindsight, that game was more Clemson beating Clemson than Duke being that good. Duke isn’t bad, but Clemson had a gazillion turnovers, a blocked FG, etc.
However, I say that to say this. Clemson is a flawed team. It’s why I picked FSU to defeat them in the preseason. In this piece, we’re going to take a look at some of the weaknesses and tendencies I’ve seen from Clemson.
I’m looking at the Duke game because you’re not going to learn much from games against Charleston Southern and FAU. Has Clemson shown everything they will do yet? Absolutely not, and I’m sure they have some wrinkles ready for FSU on Saturday afternoon.
I like how FSU matches up with Clemson. I liked them last year, but they didn’t have the depth at defensive tackle to stop the run with Fabien Lovett out. That’s not the case this year. Let’s get into it.
