FSU football: Impact players versus the Clemson Tigers
WR Keon Coleman
I previously alluded to quarterback Jordan Travis and the offensive weapons that he possesses. One of the biggest playmakers on the entire football team is former Michigan State transfer Keon Coleman, who was brought in this offseason via the transfer portal. The talented wide receiver made his presence known against his home-state LSU Tigers where he had nine catches for 122 yards and three touchdowns.
Coleman has been a receiver that opposing defenses have to monitor closely. Unfortunately, there are so many mouths to feed in this offensive system with the likes of Johnny Wilson, Jaheim Bell, Winston Wright Jr., Destyn Hill, etc. There are times when the Louisiana native might not get many targets.
In the Seminoles’ nail-biting victory against the Boston College Eagles, Coleman did not catch a pass in the contest. But I expect that absence in the game plan to change drastically on Saturday. If FSU wants to knock off Clemson, we will have to scheme one-on-one matchups with the 6’4″ wide receiver against their defensive backs.
