2. RB Rodney Hill

Veteran running back Trey Benson is clearly a pivotal piece to this offensive scheme for the Seminoles. The coaching staff has made it known that they would like to establish the running game to build their identity offensively. Most fans had high expectations for the former Oregon transfer after he recorded 154 carries for 990 yards and nine touchdowns. However, coming in this season, Benson only has 33 carries for 164 yards and four touchdowns. While those numbers are solid, they aren’t what most Seminole fans expected.

Fans have voiced their concerns on social media, where they suggest Benson has not been himself this season where he looks hesitant fighting through opposing defense’s tackles. However, one running back who has been running hard is redshirt freshman Rodney Hill. He consistently breaks through tacklers and makes defenders pay for coming up in run support. In 2023, he has recorded 15 carries for 102 yards.

While I am not suggesting that Benson be benched for his performance by any means, I do think that Hill deserves to have more opportunities to be successful. He seems to be a great complement to what Benson, as well as Caziah Holmes (who we haven’t seen much of) bring to the table.
