3. CB Azareye’h Thomas

The coaching staff knew that they got a certified playmaker in the 2022 recruiting cycle when they secured the likes of four-star athlete Azareye’h Thomas. Many media members who attended practice this offseason raved about the play of Thomas, but they wondered if he could piece everything together. The Niceville (Fl.) native played meaningful snaps last season, where he appeared in 11 games and had 14 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one interception, and one pass breakup.

I made a bold claim this offseason when I stated that Thomas would become cornerback number two before the season ends. While it was not a direct attack on veterans Renardo Green and/or Fentrell Cypress II, it did indicate that if the young defensive back was able to put everything together then he could be a special player. The Seminoles could utilize the 6’3″, 194-pound cornerback for a defensive unit that has only generated four takeaways through the three games this season.
