FSU football: 3 things to know about Boston College in 2023
By Kelvin Hunt
Boston College Can’t Stop The Run
I know some folks have expressed concern about FSU’s running game through two games. I’m not one of those, but if you are, Boston College is the perfect team to get your running game going against.
The Eagles have allowed 4.99 yards per rush through two games against Northern Illinois and Holy Cross. Northern Illinois had 166 rushing yards, and Holy Cross racked up 264 rushing yards on 39 attempts (6.8 ypc).
However, Holy Cross has a mobile quarterback with 131 rushing yards on 19 attempts and two touchdowns. The Crusaders had a running back with 109 rushing yards on 13 attempts and two touchdowns.
Both guys had long runs of 35 and 45 yards, respectively. If we go back to last year, FSU had 180 rushing yards on 35 carries and four rushing touchdowns.
I would expect a heavy rushing attack if the weather is as expected, with FSU likely wearing down a Boston College defense that only had nine tackles for loss through two games agaisnt non-Power 5 teams.
