FSU football is back once again as they prepare to take on the Boston College Eagles in their ACC opener on Saturday, September 16th at noon EST, which will air on ABC.

On Monday, the Seminoles released their projected depth chart for the contest.

Takeaways from the depth chart:

-Johnny Wilson is still listed as the starter at the wide receiver position after his consistency issues with multiple drops.

-Darius Washington is listed as an -or- designation at the center position with Maurice Smith, who did not play on Saturday night due to suffering a lower-body injury.

-Winston Wright Jr. is listed as the starter as the kickoff returner. It previously listed Trey Benson and Deuce Spann as co-starters in the position.

Analysis

I am a huge fan of the coaching staff expressing confidence in big-bodied wide receiver Johnny Wilson, even after his confidence seems to be wavering after his issue with drops. As Mike Norvell alluded to in his press conference, Wilson understands what needs to be done. If the former Arizona State transfer can find himself through the trials and tribulations, this could make the offensive unit virtually unstoppable.

Speaking of mental hurdles, it is amazing to see Winston Wright Jr. fighting through adversity after suffering a lower-body injury after a car accident, which kept him sidelined for the entire 2022 season. The talented playmaker seems to be slowly gaining confidence in himself and finding his niche of where he belongs on this football team. This could pay dividends for a football team that has heightened expectations.

Lastly, the center position has been a concern for FSU fans, given that Maurice Smith was the only one who showcased an ability to be the most consistent snapping the football. However, some fans forget about the versatility of Darius Washington, who can play all five positions.
