All of the Young Secondary
FSU football coaches have done a great job evaluating talent to fill the needs in their secondary from a mixture of players from the transfer portal and prep ranks.
Fentrell Cypress shined against LSU’s top receiver, Gabe Nabers, and Renardo Green had the first interception of the year for the Noles.
However, FSU coaches added several talented freshmen in its 2023 recruiting class who’ll play vital roles once those two mentioned players leave, along with safety Akeem Dent.
We saw some freshmen get on the field late in the game against LSU to allow a long 75-yard touchdown. I need to see a larger sample size from those guys, especially since they’ve been flashing in practice.
I expect Southern Miss to have to throw the ball around a bit in the second half, and I’d like to see how these young players fare.
I hope to see players like Conrad Hussey, Ashlynd Barker, Quindarrius Jones, Edwin Joseph, KJ Kirkland, and Ja’Bril Rawls.
