FSU football: Top 10 bold predictions for 2023 season
By Kelvin Hunt
Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman will have 50+ receptions and 1,000+ receiving yards each
Keon Coleman had 50+ receptions and almost 800 yards on a bad offense with poor QB play last year. Johnny Wilson had 43 receptions and almost 900 yards with Jordan Travis last year.
Wilson would have had 50+ and 1,000 receiving yards if he didn’t struggle to catch a few routine passes last year. I expect both players to feast a ton this year, with Jordan Travis and the run game forcing teams to bring a safety down in the box.
They won’t have to make a ton of catches to add up the yardage because they’ll be so explosive. All they would need to do is average roughly four receptions and 84 yards per game.
I’m sure there will be games where they will have well over 100 receiving yards, so they can afford to have a game of only 50 yards here and there.
The thing that could throw a monkey wrench in this prediction is Jaheim Bell, Kyle Morlock, and Markeston Douglas could factor much more into the passing game than tight ends in years past.
Then, there’s Desytn Hill, and Winston Wright Jr, and Kentron Poitier.
