LSU football announced on their social media account that the Tigers will wear their gold helmets, white jerseys, and gold pants for their 2023 season opener against the Florida State Seminoles.

The Tigers wore the same uniform combination last season against FSU football. For reference, Florida State wore their traditional gold helmets, garnet jerseys, and gold pants in the contest.

While it might sound boring, it looks as though the Seminoles will once again wear the traditional uniform combination. When the general consensus thinks about Florida State, they always bring up the uniform combination that features garnet and gold.

There is also a possibility that the Seminoles could feature the gold helmets, garnet jerseys, and garnet pants. However, I do not believe that FSU will break out any unique combination, such as white helmets.

This heavyweight battle against LSU and second-year head football coach Brian Kelly is a game that has been circled on the calendar all offseason. The Seminoles won last year’s matchup by a score of 24-23 after reserve defensive back Shyheim Brown blocked the potential game-tying extra point to end the game.

The 2022 matchup had 7.55 million viewers, which is understandable considering how entertaining the game was with all of the high’s and low’s of the contest.

The Seminoles are trying to navigate through the month of September with playing the likes of both LSU and Clemson. FSU will attempt to live up to the heightened expectations of the program after they finished with a 10-3 record last season.

Various media feel the Seminoles could have an opportunity to make it to the ACC Championship, and quite possibly even a College Football Playoff berth.

Will head football coach Mike Norvell, in his fourth season coaching in Tallahassee, get the opportunity to sustain success for a program starving to get back on the map of national relevance?
