FSU football: Two freshmen wide receivers poke fun at arch-rival Hurricanes
FSU football is 11 weeks away from facing their arch-rivals, the Miami Hurricanes.
However, the bitter rivalry has taken a rest this offseason as Florida State true freshmen wide receivers Goldie Lawrence and Vandrevius Jacobs poke fun at the Hurricanes, where they showcase the “upside down U” in their photoshoot featuring the Seminoles’ newest uniforms in their recent Instagram post.
FSU absolutely dismantled the Hurricanes on their home turf (well… the Miami Dolphins) by a score of 45-3. It was a completely dominant performance by FSU football, where they outgained first-year head football coach Mario Cristobal’s squad by a lopsided 454 to 188.
Coming into 2023 matchup, head football coach Mike Norvell has his team poised for a phenomenal campaign filled with ultimate goals that consist of ACC Championship title considerations and possible College Football Playoff berths.
On the other hand, head football coach Mario Cristobal is entering his second season after a disappointing 5-7 season where the Hurricanes lost to teams such as Texas A&M and Middle Tennessee State.
While this isn’t CaneChat, and most fans despise looking at the putrid orange and green color scheme of the Hurricanes, it is worth mentioning that the Miami game will be one contest circled on the Seminoles’ 2023 schedule.
Florida State and Miami have been linked to several highly-touted prospects in the 2024 recruiting cycle, such as five-star WR Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State commit) as well as Miami commitments such as five-star WR Joshisa Trader, four-star DT Artavius Jones, and four-star S Zaquan Patterson that head football coach Mike Norvell and company are attempting to flip their commitments.
The home slate for the Seminoles in 2023 is certainly underwhelming on the surface. They play the following opponents in Doak Campbell Stadium:
•Southern Miss
•Virginia Tech
•Syracuse
•Duke
•Miami
•North Alabama
The coaching staff understands the excitement of the rivalry matchup against the Hurricanes that is taking place on November 11th.
Many highly-touted prospects have expressed their interests in attending the contest. Hopefully, when the two teams face off in Tallahassee, it does not involve a 4th down and 14 conversion to secure a victory in thrilling fashion.
