Reason Two For Losing 3 Games: The Offense Isn’t Elite

What if the offense isn’t as good as we anticipate? An injury or two could affect things. FSU has some new faces from the portal at the skill positions of Keon Coleman and Jaheim Bell.

FSU had the same situation with Johnny Wilson, Mycah Pittman, and Trey Benson coming in from the portal last year. For whatever reason, FSU had a three-game stretch where the offense wasn’t in sync, couldn’t make the plays, or turned the ball over too much, and it cost them three times last year.

It’s incredibly difficult for an offense to click every game unless you’re 2013 FSU. FSU only averaged 22 points per game in the three losses last year.

Now, I think the FSU defense will be better in 2023, which should help if they have some off games. Aside from LSU and Clemson, it’s not like FSU will face an offense that would blow the doors off anyone.

There’s no guarantees those offenses will be great, especially Clemson with an inexperienced QB and new OC. For what it’s worth, FSU hasn’t allowed more than 38 points in regulation since 2021.
