Reason 2 for Winning 12: The Offense Is Elite

Truthfully, I will be disappointed if this offense isn’t elite. They were a top 10 offense last season according to FEI advanced metrics and upgraded at nearly every position talent-wise.

Plus, they bring back an experienced QB, RB room, and WR room, and the offensive line has more combined starts than any unit in the nation.

It’s not like they will face a murderer’s row of defenses in 2023. I think LSU’s defense will be good.

Clemson’s defense should be good, but FSU should have scored 40+ points last year against those teams.

I know some talking heads keep putting the team’s success on the back of the defense, but I couldn’t disagree more. It’s up to the offense to score points, and the game is a more offensive game than in years past.

There is no such thing as an elite defense in college football because the most talented defenses give up a ton of points. FSU has all the pieces to be elite.

FSU has a Heisman candidate at QB, NFL talent at running back, wide receiver, and tight-end position. Also, the offensive line should be among the top 25 or so units nationally.
