Stopping The Run

I really don’t think this will be a problem for the Noles in 2023. However, it was an issue once Fabien Lovett got hurt and had to miss several games.

It’s one reason the coaches went to the transfer portal to add Braden Fiske and Darrell Jackson Jr. Unfortunately, Jackson’s appeal got denied, and he’s not available to play right now. However, Fiske has turned heads with how he impacts plays.

Not to mention, FSU’s Joshua Farmer, Dennis Briggs, and Malcolm Ray have another year under their belt. Also, young defensive tackles Daniel Lyons and Ayobami Tifase were around last year, and should get some playing time in blowouts this year.

Fabien Lovett returning for the 2023 season was a big deal for this defensive line, and it’s arguably the best unity in the ACC, even without Darrell Jackson Jr.

Now, we still have to see them go out and effectively stop the run this year, but I don’t see any reason why they won’t do it. The run defense was excellent when Lovett was on the field last year. He’s back and the position has more talent and depth.
