The First Four Games

I’ve said it before, it’s a two game schedule, with all things equal. The season opener against LSU and game four on the road against Clemson are the two pivotal games.

FSU expects to defeat Southern Miss and Boston College in games two and three and will be heavy betting favorites. If FSU can defeat LSU in the season opener, they have some built-in cushion when they travel to Clemson.

If they defeat LSU and Clemson, they are in the driver’s seat the rest of the season against inferior teams. If they lose to LSU and beat Clemson?

They remain in the driver’s seat until the ACC Championship game. If they lose both games, that’ll likely change the ceiling for the team regarding making the College Football Playoff or playing for a National Title.

No two loss team has made the College Football Playoff. However, they could still potentially win the ACC, which is something they haven’t done since 2014.

I keep imagining what’s possible with wins over LSU and Clemson in the first four games. The hype around this program would be deafning.
