4-Star. . DL. Mainlad HS, Dayton Beach, FL. LJ MCCRAY

I’ve already mentioned FSU has a need at defensive tackle, and LJ McCray is someone the Noles were in on earlier in the recruiting cycle. He’s also the high-ranked option available.

McCray ranks as the No. 128 player and No. 19 defensive lineman. He list at 6’6″ and 260 pounds. His final five schools are Florida, Auburn, FSU, Georgia, and Miami.

The good news is McCray used four of his official visits this summer, and the last one is set for FSU when they host Virginia Tech.

However, FSU hasn’t gotten him on campus since he visited twice this spring, the last time in early March. Florida seemed to have taken the lead in his recruitment over the summer.

However, if they have the season I expect, that may throw a curveball in that recruitment. FSU’s top recruits know they need defensive lineman, and I expect they’ll go out full stop for a player of McCray’s caliber.

Honorable Mentions

  • Jeremiah Smith: Five-star WR
  • Jason Zandamela: Four-star OL
  • Eddrick Houston: Four-star DL(KJ Bolden teammate and FSU was the first to offer in 2021)
