4-Star. . DT. Blountstown HS, Blountstown, FL. ARTAVIUS JONES

Artavius Jones is a four-star Miami Hurricanes commit who visited the Noles not long after his commitment.

It was an important unofficial visit since he hadn’t been on campus since the spring. FSU needs at least one more defensive tackle in this recruiting cycle. Jones ranks as the No. 165 player and the No. 21 defensive lineman.

He lists at 6’3″ and 280 pounds. He’s already used his official visit to Miami and Central Florida this summer.

While on campus the last time, he said it was between Miami and FSU. It’s possible another school could enter the mix, but I like where FSU stands since he’s from the Florida panhandle and a short distance away from Tallahassee.

FSU can still use an official visit, and there’s a good chance it’ll be for the Miami game. Wouldn’t it be poetic justice for FSU to run through Miami again while he’s visiting and flip him in the process?

FSU’s recruiting class looks much better than Miami’s and a lot of top guys will be going after Jones to join Tribe24. I’d classify Jones as a need.
