Recruiting

A year ago this time, FSU football had the No. 43 ranked recruting class, and everyone complained about high school recruiting.

I said then, FSU had to show proof of concept and production on the field to improve high school recruiting. It’s amazing what 10 wins for do for a program with the same staff as a year ago.

Fast forward, and FSU has the No. 6 program nationally with over a 70 percent blue-chip ratio. Here’s a rundown of the recruiting class:

  • No. 1 tight end nationally
  • No. 8 QB nationally
  • No. 2 CB nationally
  • No. 3 RB nationally
  • No. 4 Interior OL nationally
  • No. 13 Athlete nationally
  • No. 20 Athlete nationally
  • No. 26 OT nationally
  • No. 29 Athlete nationally
  • No. 30 Athlete nationally
  • No. 31 DL nationally
  • No. 35 WR nationally

All of these are blue-chip recruits, with likely more on the way. The old narrative Mike Norvell can’t recruit high school players has to be discarded by opposing schools.
