FSU football recruiting opened in July with a string of 2024 commitments and is closing the month the same way with the addition of four-star offensive lineman Manasse Itete.

Itete was an offensive lineman target earlier this spring, with FSU making a great impression on his first visit. However, the west coast product took an official visit to USC and committed shortly after.

Most, like myself, considered that recruitment over since he was from the west coast, and I thought FSU would focus on another USC commit who had leaned toward FSU early in the process, Jason Zandamela.

However, some smoke regarding Itete trending towards FSU appeared earlier this week, and he officially de-committed from USC Friday with intentions to announce a new commitment Saturday.

Itete committed to FSU Saturday via his Twitter account:

Itete becomes the third offensive lineman in the 2024 class. I have to say, I’ve mentioned the young man seems highly impressionable and has four official visits remaining if he chooses to take them. However, what makes me feel better is knowing he can and will still take one to FSU.

It’ll be interesting to see when that visit takes place. I’d probably put it closer to the Early Signing Day, so something like the Miami game.

That will be a ridiculously electric environment that will let him know what big boy football is all about. Itete is a true offensive tackle listed at 6’5″ and 290 pounds.

The trio of Itete, Jonathan Daniels, and Tye Hylton in this class that’s relatively weak for offensive linemen is an awesome job by Alex Atkins and everyone else involved in these recruitments. The question now remains, will FSU go after USC commit Zandamela?

The staff liked him a great deal, and he has three official visits remaining. If they can get him on campus for an official visit? I like their chances.
