Defensive Line

The defensive line has been much like the offensive line in recent years. FSU has hit paydirt twice at the defensive end in the portal with the additions of Jermaine Johnson and Jared Verse.

Fabien Lovett was one of the first transfers Mike Norvell took when he arrived, and the Noles took Darrell Jackson Jr., Braden Fiske, and Gilber Edmonds from the portal this spring.

Lovett, Verse, and Fiske will assuredly be gone after this season. Jackson and Edmonds could return, but FSU has a solid nucleus waiting in the wings, especially at defensive tackle:

  • Joshua Farmer (DT)
  • Daniel Lyons (DT)
  • Ayobami Tifase (DT)
  • Keith Sampson (DT)
  • Patrick Payton (DE)
  • Byron Turner Jr. (DE)
  • Dante Anderson (DE)
  • Aaron Hester (DE)
  • Jaden Jones (DE)
  • Lamont Green Jr. (DE)

FSU has one three-star DT commit and one four-star DE commit in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
