Running Back

FSU has used a bevy of transfer running backs since Mike Norvell got hired at FSU. Players like La’Damien Webb, Jashaun Corbin, D.J. Williams, Trey Benson, and Caziah Holmes, to name a few.

However, FSU has done a solid job getting prep players in the action. Treshaun Ward and Lawrence Toafii have been respectable over the last couple of years.

Benson will likely be the primary back in 2023, with Toafili, and redshirt freshman Rodney Hill getting the majority of the rest of the carries.

Benson will likely leave and become a high NFL Draft pick after this season, which leaves a ton of quality prep players waiting in the wings for 2024 and beyond:

  • Lawrance Toafili (2020 four-star signee)
  • Rodney Hill (2022 three-star signee)
  • Samuel Singleton (2023 four-star signee)
  • Kameron Davis (2024 four-star commit)
  • Micahi Danzy (2024 four-star commit)
