Time Frame

When Travis Hunter’s recruitment neared its end, it was at the end of the recruiting cycle for players that planned to sign early in December.

FSU had little to no time to react, nor did they have their NIL game on point because Rising Spear or The Battles End were not launched, much less organized at the time.

Charles Lester III will announce his commitment on July 28th, five months before the Early Signing Period.

I still expect him to commit to FSU. If he chooses Colorado, as some believe, FSU will have months to counter that situation, not to mention Colorado will likely be terrible on the field this season, and is likely a long term rebuild.

FSU expects to win 10 or more games in 2023. On top of that, FSU’s NIL game is in a much different space than when they were trying to land Travis Hunter.

While Colorado may have some NIL backing, there’s a reason its recruiting class ranks No. 61 nationally, and they only have eight commits (three blue-chip).
